Jessica
and I started off the year visiting the Grand
Canyon on a weekend whim. We headed out on a
February Friday night and drove 1/2 way there.
On Saturday we made it to the canyon. It was
freezing but beautiful. Jess and I would
recommend a Winter trip to the Grand Canyon to
anyone.

When Spring rolled around, Jessica got a new job
at a defense company in San Diego. She came
down to work in their finance division
in May while I finished teaching until the end of
the school year up in Camarillo. Jess also
graduated this summer with her MBA from Pepperdine. We had a great time in Malibu under
the sun. Here we're posing with her sisters,
Janel, Julie, and Jasmin.

During the summer, I looked for a job while Jess
got settled in at her new company. I finally
landed a middle school teaching position at
a local private school which is very similar
to the Christian school I worked at in
Camarillo.
We've really enjoyed being back in San Diego and
have already taken in a few Padres and Chargers
games.

We do miss our friends from up north so we've
had to work out ways to stay connected. A
marriage retreat in Big Bear was a perfect
way to spend time with many of our friends from
the church we attended in Camarillo. Breakfast
at the Teddy Bear Cafe was a lot of fun too.
(Click on the photo to read the cup!) It was
actually that weekend when we began letting
people know that Jessica is pregnant!

Don't believe us? Here is the evidence.

Jess starts a new job in January.
We just bought our first
condo. It's been an exciting year and we're
glad to be back in good ol' San Diego.
