2006 started off with a fun
visit to Chicago to see Amy
perform in her first opera at
Wheaton College: "Three sisters Who
are Not Sisters." It was a rather
macabre comedy that kept the whole
audience laughing. Amy is a junior
at Wheaton College Conservatory of
Music. During the summer she
worked multiple jobs and especially
enjoyed being a nanny for two fun
kids named Luke and Abby.
Josh
and Jessica are traveling in
style in the new Honda Ridgeline
truck they purchased this year. Josh
continues to teach junior high
at Cornerstone Christian School in
Camarillo, CA where he also enjoys
coaching sports and leading a
student body government team. He
has learned a lot about motivational
psychology!
Jessica
continues to work hard in the MBA
program at Pepperdine University.
She has wonderful opportunities to
apply what she learns to managing a
Starbucks in Moorpark. As she nears
graduation you’ll also find her
exploring all the possibilities
available to qualified MBA grads!
In
June, Kara graduated from
Loyola med school in Chicago. She’s now Dr. Kara Ebersole,
MD. Our whole family, including
Linda’s brother Dusty, traveled to
the Windy City for the ceremonies on
Navy Pier. We managed to squeeze in
lots of fun adventures while we were
there
and even visited a Swedish
restaurant
and museum. In her “spare time” Kara
trained to run the Chicago Marathon
and finished in 4 hours 34 minutes.
Chris graduates from
med school in May. He and Kara are
interviewing diligently and working hard to find a city where
they can both do residencies. Chris
hopes to find one for surgical
urology or radiology while Kara
plans to do hers in
pediatrics.
When
Kara scheduled several interviews in
New York City in November, we were
thrilled to find out that Linda
would be able to coordinate one of
her trips to Scholastic.com so she
could be in the Big Apple at the
same time! They enjoyed seeing
Phantom on Broadway and walking
all over SoHo and Chinatown. Linda
loves taking photos, creating
videos, and learning so she jumped
at an opportunity to participate in
some incredible training events
sponsored by Discovery Education at
Sea World and the American Film
Institute in Hollywood. She
continues to use her skills and
enthusiasm to train teachers in the
Poway Unified School District.
Evan
began his 30th year
pastoring Pomerado Christian Church,
a congregation filled with loving,
generous, creative, people who are
committed to learning and growing in
their faith. He also finds time to
pursue a few hobbies such as playing
a new acoustic guitar that he won
recently as a door prize at the
local Carvin Guitar factory!
We’re grateful for a busy and
blessed year. Our prayer for you is
that you would experience all the
fullness of God’s grace this
Christmas and in the year to come.
