2004
was a year of "Extreme Makeovers" in the Foote Family Household,
though they weren't financed or documented by a professional TV
crew!
We began the new year with Linda
recovering from an "extreme lung remodel" after having another
lung cancer surgery. We're glad the tumor is gone (it was cancer again)
and that subsequent scans have shown that everything's "all
clear."

While
she was recovering Evan set out to do an extreme makeover on the house with
new paint, interior doors, wainscoting, and baseboards. Luckily he
got most of it done in time for all the guests who came because of
the other makeovers that happened big time this year: weddings!
Kara married Chris Ebersole in June
at a gorgeous backyard wedding held at our friend's home in
Escondido.
(Thanks,
Jeff and Sarah!) Dad got to walk the bride down the aisle while
Grandpa Ebersole performed the first half of the ceremony. Then
Evan stepped in for the vows, the rings, and a few personal
remarks.
The newlyweds moved into their cute
apartment near Chicago, Illinois, halfway between the two
different med schools they attend.
Then 5 months later Josh's marital
status had an extreme makeover with a lovely bride named Jessica
Bramlett. Their
beautiful wedding was held at Pomerado Christian
Church and performed by Pastor Dad who managed to get a few jokes
in. Most of the laughs, however, were in response to the videos
that Josh produced for the occasion. Amy also added her special
touch with her lovely voice.
Josh and Jess live in Camarillo
where he teaches middle school at Cornerstone Christian School.
Jess is finishing her degree at Pepperdine this year while also
climbing up the ranks of the management ladder at Starbucks.

Amy's makeover took her from the
stage of Poway's Performing Arts Center where she starred in
The Pirates of Penzance (as Mabel) all the way to the music conservatory
at Wheaton College. Yes, she graduated from high school this year
and now lives 1700 miles away from home.
So Evan and Linda's 2004 extreme
makeover resulted in an empty nest (well, except for Jessie the
ADHD dog--who underwent her own makeover with a second round of
obedience classes this fall.) You might think that they're not
smiling much these days but actually Evan is smiling more than
ever now that his orthodontic makeover is complete. (Thanks, Dr.
Henry!)
We continue to thank God for the
wonderful changes happening in our lives, and for all of you, our
precious family and friends.
In this coming year, may God richly
bless you and yours with His transforming grace--the ultimate and
ongoing makeover!
