Peek
in on some clippings in the Foote Family News Scrapbook:
Big
Foote Spotted in Coastal Redwoods Reports of a Big
Foote sighting at Mt. Hermon Camp have rocked the Santa Cruz
area. Actually it was the Foote family on
vacation--slightly bigger than normal due to the addition of
fellow vacationer, Rick Stoody. Other Big Foote Family
sightings were reported throughout the region, including
Hearst Castle, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, and Solvang.
Those who have reported the sightings said the Big Foote
Family was having a lot of fun since...
Class
of 2004 Arrives Early Poway High School
started early for some incoming freshmen. Amy Foote, who
graduated from Twin Peaks a few weeks ago, received her first
high school "A" by attending summer school at
PHS. Amy wanted to get "Health Ed" out of the
way so she could be in the award-winning choir that...
Hotel
Del Celebrates with Famous Couple The famous Hotel
Del Coronado was honored to host Evan and Linda Foote on the
couple's 25th anniversary, adding them to the long list of
presidents and dignitaries who have stayed there. It was
obvious to other guests staying at the hotel that the couple,
who married August 16, 1975, were obviously still deeply in
love with each other. Activities that the romantic pair
engaged in while staying at the resort included...
Cancer
Diagnosis Proves Wrong Doctors who found two
suspicious tumors in the right femur of a patient put her
through a roller coaster ride of tests and waiting
periods. The patient, Linda Foote, who previously had
lung cancer surgery in October of 1998 was notified in July
that the cancer had spread to her femur. After tests,
retests, visits with several specialists, and a waiting period
that lasted until Nov. 30th, an orthopedic surgeon (who
specializes in oncology) determined that the two tumors were
not cancer, but probably totally benign conditions. Upon
hearing the news, the greatly relieved family...
Bugs
Fear South Dakota Scientist Fear has struck the
insects of South Dakota as a visiting scientist in the area
collects specimens. Kara Foote, a junior pre-med student
at Wheaton College in Illinois, is spending most of her summer
at the Wheaton College Science Station near Rapid City where
she will receive 10 credit hours for such things as mapping
the nesting habits of local swallows, and pinning bug samples
to specimen boards. The insect population should be much
safer next summer as Foote, who will turn 21 on December 15th,
plans to spend 6 months of 2001 studying third-world medicine
in the Latin American country of...
Family
Sees Ghost Two preserved lions from Africa,
"Ghost" and "Darkness," who were featured
in the movie The Ghost and the Darkness, were visited
yesterday as the Foote Family wandered through Chicago's
famous Field Museum. While in the Chicago area for
Wheaton College's Family Weekend in November, they also
visited such places as the seven story mall called the
"Water Tower Place," and Chicago's Art Museum.
The two male members of the family, Josh and Evan, were able
to watch one of the few victories of the Chicago Bears
football team at Soldier field. Even though they didn't
have tickets to the sold out game, the two scoundrels were
able to sneak into the game by...
Jesus
2000 Draws Thousands A multi-denominational
celebration of Jesus Christ took place on Sunday, July 16th as
1,000's came to Mount Carmel High School Stadium from all over
San Diego County. Local church leaders, including Pastor
Evan Foote of Pomerado Christian Church in Poway, called the
event one of the finest expressions of Christian unity ever in
San Diego. Foote served on the executive steering
committee...

Teacher Teaches Teachers Many teachers in
award-winning Poway Unified School District have been
receiving coaching and attending classes provided by Mrs.
Linda Foote, a former third grade instructor. Foote's
husband, who brags about her constantly said, "My wife
MISSES being with kids full-time, but from her position at the
school district office, she's able to help more teachers and
ultimately more students." Some of the web pages
Linda has created for teachers can be found at: http://www.powayusd.com/lfoote .
The family's annual
Christmas letter has it's own web
address at http://www.powayusd/lfoote/CC200
and is one of the many tools the whole family hopes will
convey their great gratitude for God's rich blessings
of the
year and their love for all their family and friends.
Linda's family (Evan, Linda, Josh, Kara, and Amy) was last
quoted on the web saying, "God bless you as you have a
Merry Christmas and Happy New...
